 | Bristlenose are very popular algae eating catfish, hardy and undemanding, they adapt to most aquarium conditions. Mature males are easily identifiable by their distinctive bristles. They will spawn readily, the orange eggs are usually laid under a rock and guarded by the male until they emerge as a small replica of the adults. Grows to about 10-12cm. |

| CORYDORAS JULII - LEOPARD CORY |

 | Also known as the Leopard Catfish, the Corydoras Julii is native to Peru, Brazil and Ecuador. They grow to a maximum size of about 6 cm and behave similarly to the more familiar Bronze, Albino and Pepper corydoras. Stock supplied to Australia is both bred in captivity and wild caught. |

Corydoras are ideal aquarium fish, peaceful, active and very good at detecting uneaten food items lying on the substrate. Best kept in a small group with peaceful fish such as tetras.  | Glass catfish prefer to eat aquatic crustaceans and worms; this diet can be replicated with live blackworms and frozen bloodworms in captivity although dry food will be accepted when the fish are acclimatised. Glass Catfish should be kept and displayed in schools. |

 | An ideal catfish for community tanks containing medium or larger sized fish, Hoplos are active, peaceful and easy to care for. Juveniles are very attractive with their large barbels ("whiskers") and pale body overlaid with dark markings. Not particularly fussy about water conditions and accepts most foods. Breeding males build a bubble nest amongst floating plants, guarding the eggs until they hatch. Maximum size 12-15cm. |

 | Sometimes called the Featherfin catfish because of its long feather like dorsal fin, this attractive catfish is very hardy and also very easy to care for. Young specimens have a reticulated pattern, this gradually transforms into spots as the fish grows. Ideal for a community of medium to large sized fishes. Usually grows to about 20cm. Synodontis appreciate the security of a few hiding places, so provide some driftwood, or rock caves etc. |
| SYNODONTIS PETRICOLA |

 | A native of Lake Tanganyika, this catfish requires Rift Lake water conditions. It exhibits "cuckoo-like" breeding behaviour: It interrupts a spawning pair of mouthbrooding cichlids and manages to dupe the female cichlid into also brooding catfish eggs. The catfish develop faster than the cichlid larvae and feed on the young cichlids while they are still being incubated by the female cichlid. A popular catfish for rift lake aquariums, growing to 10cm. |
