Dina's update - August!
G'day, G'day on this lovely Gympie golden dawn in beautiful Queensland. I am Dina and my old friend Carl Hebel and I are long distance runners. My 70 year old pal Carl is in training to attempt a world record run.

Carl's running mates (4 horsemen) Ron Grant, Cliff Young and Gary Parsons have all run around Australia for a world record. After years of running with Uncle Cliffie he grew weary and ran away so the 3 musketeers are trying to get together in Caboolture on August 21st - 22nd to honour their runs.
Because Carl is slowing down now, I run along and drag him to help him keep going. My marathon runs now are 125km's in Perth, Gold Coast 40km's and soon the Gympie to Caboolture 125km, 24 hour run.
We are planning to run in Athens, Greece on October the 31st in memory of Pheideppedes First marathon 2500 years ago. Our run is called "Pacers for Peace" will begin there - 500 days, 500 marathons, 20 000km's in 27 countries.
We will be in Greece, Australia, Vietnam, Taiwan, China, North Korea, South Korea, Canada, United States (if possible), Cuba, Equador, Kenya, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Swisse, Poland, Belarus and Russia by October 2012 (health permitting) and back again to the Golden Games in Atina where it all began. The Olympic Games were held annually and a truce was enforced to all fighting so brotherhood could be honoured!
Carl's Pacers for Peace is a modern run around the world for 2 years with me! We are currently sponsored by Coca Cola, McDonalds, Brooks and Harvey World Travel for our 9 flight connections.
The key to our run is North Korea as they perform in the Games with their brothers from South Korea. Hopefully the world can have a 2 year lull in conflict.
Well I have to go and do my training with my old mate at 6am, as we do every day - if you see us on the highway north of Gympie make sure you toot your horn! Check out my baby photo, I am in the middle of my Jackalier sisters above!
Lots of love and bites,
